Feb. 17: First day that Democratic and Republican candidates can circulate and file their nomination petitions
March 10: Last day that Democratic and Republican candidates can circulate and file their nomination petitions
March 11: First day that independents and third-party candidates can circulate and file their nomination petitions
March 25: Last day that Democratic and Republican candidates who filed nomination petitions can withdraw from the primary ballot
April 20: Last day to register to vote before the primary
May 12: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot
May 15: Last day that county boards of election can accept voted absentee ballots
May 19: Municipal primary
May 20: First day to register to vote after the primary
May 26: Last day for county boards of election to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots for the primary (must be postmarked by May 18)
Aug. 3: Last day that independents and third-party candidates can circulate and file nomination papers
Aug. 10: Last day that candidates can withdraw their names from the November ballot
Oct. 5: Last day to register to vote before the November election
Oct. 27: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot
Oct. 30: Last day that county boards of election can receive voted absentee ballots
Nov. 3: Municipal election
Nov. 4: First day to register to vote after the election
Nov. 10: Last day for county boards of election to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be postmarked by Nov. 2)
